I am currently in my 30th year in the Marshall County School System. I hold a BS degree in Early Childhood Education from Auburn University, a masters and an EDS in Early Childhood Education from the University of Alabama, and a Doctorate in Curriculum & Instruction with a concentration in ESL/Reading from the University of Alabama. I also hold masters level certification from the University of Alabama in ESL & Bilingual Education. I started out my teaching career at Asbury Jr. High teaching first and third grade. While at Douglas Elementary & Sloman Primary, I taught kindergarten, second grade, & ESL. I moved over to Douglas High School to work with students and coached the Douglas Tennis Team. I currently work with Federal Programs, Elementary Education, Preschool, Home Visitation Preschool, ESL, Immigrant, Migrant, Homeless, Community Education, and our bilingual translators.
I am involved with Christmas Coalition, Children's Policy Council, Snead State Early Childhood Advisory Council, AMTESOL, and several other organizations supporting our students.
I am a graduate of Douglas High School. I am married and have 3 children who are also graduates of Douglas High School. I truly believe the Marshall County School System is a great place to be and would like for every child to succeed and every parent to feel welcome.
Please contact me if I can be of any assistance.
